Assistant Shift Manager (Part-Time)

SUMMARY As an Assistant Shift Manager at Fiesta Village Family Fun Park, you serve as a representative of the park and are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and safety. Your role is vital in fostering a positive atmosphere when interacting with guests, fellow team members, and the company as a whole. Your goal is to create an engaging and enjoyable environment by delivering exceptional experiences for both our guests and staff. The primary role of the management and leadership team is to provide support and stability to both staff members and guests, ensuring everyone feels valued and cared for in our park environment.   • Create positive and lasting memories for all who engage with Fiesta Village. Support the General Manager (GM), Executive Team and Managers in executing key aspects of park operations, including financial performance, personnel management, daily sales, and suggestive selling. Establish high standards to foster a productive and enjoyable work environment for the team.
  • Oversee general park operations, including but not limited to, outdoor and indoor attractions, staffing control and guest experience.
  • Manage shift operations, striving to meet or exceed guest expectations in quality, service, and atmosphere. Ensure value to our guests is delivered through excellent experience.
  • Complete essential tasks, including cash control, accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct daily opening and closing duties as a primary operative.
  • Manage a team shift as necessary maintaining staffing levels, guest experience, and expectations of Fiesta Village Management and ownership
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of all park departments, including their structure and organization.
  • Maintain product levels to expected standards and ensure proper product rotation (first in, first out).
Guest Service
  • Ensure the guest experience across all areas meets or exceeds company standards.
  • Communicate and enforce guidelines to help front-line teams address guest concerns effectively.
  • Promptly address and resolve guest complaints to turn dissatisfied customers into returning visitors.
  • Build and nurture relationships with repeat guests.
  Team Leadership
  • Assist the GM, Executive Team and Managers in achieving park objectives by training, coaching, and developing crew members to create a highly skilled and motivated team.
  • Support new hire orientations and provide continued training to ensure team members understand job expectations. Monitor performance and offer constructive feedback to encourage growth and improvement.
  • Model and enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Develop a basic understanding of employee scheduling to meet daily and seasonal staffing demands. Prepare rotation schedules for GM review and approval.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment to maximize employee morale, productivity, and efficiency.
Skills/Competencies Needed
  • Availability: Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. As Fiesta Village primarily operates on weekends, with evenings often being the busiest shifts,  it is required for all Leadership and Management Team Members to be available during these times.
  • Cross-Training: Must be trained and experienced in all front-line positions. Leadership and management team members are expected to step in and cover frontline roles during peak operations.
  • Guest Focus: Strong hospitality and guest service skills, with a passion for engaging and connecting with guests.
  • Management Skills: Proven track record of coaching and training employees, effectively resolving employee relations issues, and motivating a strong team to create an energetic, upbeat environment.
  • Organization and Goal-Oriented: Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple workspaces of the facility simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Must actively work to achieve and exceed set goals of sales and guest experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: General knowledge of and experience with Point-of-Sale systems, cash registers, electronic devices, and various software programs.
  • Record-Keeping: Exceptional organizational skills to maintain detailed records, reports, and logs.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to follow directions and uphold Fiesta Village standards in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Integrity: Demonstrates honesty, does the right thing even when unsupervised, and earns the trust of others.
  • Health Standards: Reviews and maintains applicable health standards as directed by the San Bernardino County Health Department.
  • Product Management: Follows established checklist programs for product quality and ensures adherence to standards.
  • Reports: Completes opening and closing reports accurately.
  • Safety Awareness: Ability to visually assess and evaluate safety hazards in compliance with workplace safety procedures.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proven ability to handle guest and employee complaints effectively and professionally.
  • Keyholder Responsibilities: Capable of performing opening and closing duties, including securing the facility.
  • Work-Life Balance: Ability to balance personal responsibilities with professional commitments.
Requirements and Responsibilities – Must have the ability to:
  • Perform effectively under pressure in a high-volume environment, including the ability to move and respond quickly for extended periods.
  • Stand for prolonged periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Consistently maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional demeanor, serving as a role model for all Fiesta Village employees.
  • Successfully complete the Assistant Manager Observable Behaviors Assessment as part of a 60-day probationary performance evaluation conducted by Executive Management.
  • Ensure all signage around the Fiesta Village facility, including current pricing, product details, specials, and informational displays, is accurate and up to date.
Physical Requirements & Demand The physical demands described here represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While carrying out the duties of this role, individuals must regularly:
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Talk, hear, and see.
  • Use legs for climbing and walking.
  • Work in seasonal weather conditions and occasionally at heights of up to 10 feet.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certifications:
    • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
    • Food Handler’s certification or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role or equivalent (e.g., shift lead, team lead, or supervisor).
    • Minimum of 1 year in the guest service industry with proven ability to deliver and ensure guest satisfaction.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, manufacturer operating instructions and manuals as well as procedural guidelines.
  • Proficiency in drafting reports and completing required forms.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively in front of groups, guests, team members, and managers at Fiesta Village Family Fun Park.
Environment The environmental conditions described here reflect those an individual may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position:
  • Exposure to heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions in both indoor and outdoor work areas.
  • Multi-level buildings, steep stairways, sloped walkways, and ramps.
  • Conditions requiring the use of appropriate footwear, as slip-resistant shoes are mandatory at all times without exception. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Footwear Guidelines: Employees are required to wear aggressive tread, slip-resistant footwear to navigate severe weather and environmental conditions. For specific footwear requirements, please refer to departmental guidelines.
