We had such a blast celebrating Dr. Seuss Day at Cooley Ranch Elementary School! The teachers and kids are all so wonderful and fun. We all learned a lot and read Dr. Seuss together.
DR. SEUSS FUN FACTS
- His real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel.
- His first book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, was rejected 27 times before being published in 1937. (Never give up!)
- He wrote and illustrated 44 books for children.
- The Cat in the Hat was written as a result of an article in Life magazine about illiteracy among children. A publisher provided Dr. Seuss with 250 words and out of those words, came the beloved classic The Cat in the Hat.
